Properties of gold - chemical, physical and medicinal
Researchers have not come to a consensus on how gold reserves appeared on planet Earth. This amazing metal, which is called precious and noble, is quite rare in nature. Until now, scientists cannot explain how it appeared on the planet.

Due to its extraordinary properties, gold was used as a currency, as a cult attribute and as an ornament. And to this day, it decorates and makes life easier for a person.
Characteristics of gold
Physical Properties
Gold as a chemical element has been known for a long time. Many scientists of different times studied the properties of this precious metal, described how it looks. It is no coincidence that many compared it to the sun - none of the metals has such a warm yellow color.

Gold has a very high density. In other words, it is very heavy. If, for example, a cube of gold and a cube of iron are weighed, then the gold cube will be three times heavier than the iron one.

The melting point of this metal is 1064 degrees, and if it is higher, then the gold will evaporate. It is curious that in the molten state it changes its color and becomes greenish.

A distinctive property of gold is its softness. No wonder many, in order to make sure whether there was gold in front of them, bit coins or nuggets, because traces remained on real gold.It is because of the softness of this amazing metal in the manufacture of products (coins, jewelry, dishes, etc.) that alloys were made, combining it with copper, silver, and palladium.

Another feature of the yellow metal is its extraordinary malleability. Without heating, craftsmen can make thin plates (0.1 microns) from it. Due to this property, gold is also used to decorate domes in temples.

This noble metal is also quite successfully used in microelectronics due to its low resistance, thermal conductivity, and oxidation resistance.

In addition, gold is capable of reflecting infrared rays, and therefore it is used in the production of glass for aircraft carriers and ships, astronaut helmets.

In the table of Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev, this heavy metal belongs to the eleventh group of elements. To date, thirty-seven of its isotopes are well known, but only one of them occurs in the natural environment.

Chemical features
The chemical name of this metal is "aurum" (abbreviated as "Au"). This is an inert substance that does not interact with other natural substances, with the exception of mercury (with which it creates an amalgam). Gold does not dissolve in alkali and acid, although it can be dissolved in aqua regia (a mixture of nitrogen and hydrochloric acid), and in the presence of oxygen, in liquid bromine and an aqueous solution of cyanides. To restore pure gold, it is only necessary to heat these compounds to eight hundred degrees. This cannot be done at home, but we must remember: all jewelry (earrings, rings, chains, etc.) is not made of pure gold, but with impurities, and their interaction with chlorine, mercury, iodine will be undesirable.

Due to its special qualities, this noble metal is widely used in medicine.

Gold as a remedy
In ancient times, alchemists compiled entire treatises on the treatment of gold, and medieval researchers also wrote about it. Today, scientists around the world continue to work on the possibility of using this amazing substance in industry and for medical purposes.

Since ancient times, gold has been considered a cure for most ailments. According to our ancestors, it relieved pain and nervous stress, gave a person strength.

Traditional healers endow gold with such healing properties:
- it can relieve inflammation;
- cures allergies;
- improves memory;
- normalizes the metabolism in the body;
- calms the nervous system;
- helps to strengthen the immune system during infections;
- relieves headaches;
- helps to quickly cope with diseases of the genitourinary system (in women).

In addition, the use of wearing gold products lies in its ability to give a person self-confidence, protect from the evil eye and from damage, and fight depression.
According to the ancient healers, in order to be cured of diseases, it is enough just to put on and wear gold items.

But do not forget that not every person can wear gold jewelry without harm to their own health. This happens extremely rarely, but there are cases when gold negatively affects the well-being of the owner of this noble metal: allergies may appear, hair growth slows down, teeth begin to decay, and chronic diseases worsen. If these symptoms appear, then, of course, it is better to refuse to wear gold altogether, or at least limit it.

Gold and magic
This noble metal also has magical properties.
It is known that from ancient times, gold medallions depicting a star or the sun were made. These talismans saved those who worked in the mines from tragedies, they instilled faith in people in safety, gave them courage.

Being the metal of the Sun, gold has the ability to influence strong personalities. It gives confidence and strength. It is useful for such zodiac signs as Leo, Aries, Taurus to wear gold jewelry. To promote health and improve well-being, gold will benefit Scorpions, Gemini, Sagittarius, Aquarius.

It is believed that gold medallions are best worn near the solar plexus - they will protect against the effects of black magic.
The main thing, of course, is to believe in the magical properties of this metal.

Gold in the natural environment
In a meager amount, gold can be present in any of the rocks, in plants, in living beings. There is a lot of it in the hydrosphere, on the surface of the earth, in the ocean and sea depths (they get there from groundwater and groundwater). The most famous are deposits on the coast of the United States of America, on European coasts, in the Caribbean and the Dead Seas.

Gold without impurities is very rare in nature, most often it is mined with impurities of copper, platinum, silver or rhodium.

Eternal symbol of beauty and wealth
According to many researchers, sparkling metal was the first material from which people began to make jewelry and household items.

During the excavations, golden objects of the Neolithic era (fifth-fourth millennium BC) were found!

It is no coincidence that myths and legends have been created about gold, books about alchemists, pirates and gold diggers have been written.And until now it is a symbol of wealth, beauty and power.
