Simbirtsite stone born on the Volga - photo, properties, what gems are and where they are used

Simbircite is a stone whose name indicates the place of its extraction. The mineral is recognized as a national treasure of Russia. An inexpensive nugget, thanks to its unique structure and elegant pattern on the surface, becomes an adornment of any product in which it is included.

The stone is associated with huge fossilized shells or with stone veins of various colors. In nature, there are red nuggets with an orange tint, as well as sand-colored crystals with yellow patches.

There are also green and white stones. The color of the stone is directly affected by the percentage of iron or manganese in the composition of the mineral.

The mystery of the origin of the mineral

The photo shows simbircite, the formation of which took place approximately 67-88 million years. Scientists are sure that the history of the stone affects the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods. The first mention of the name of the stone dates back to 1765.

On the coast of the Volga River near the city of Simbirsk, which is now called Ulyanovsk, research activities were conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Svechin. The Senate instructed the man to study the forests of the Volga province. The military did a good job. In parallel, he reported to his superiors that in the course of the assignment, his team managed to find strange stones that are very similar to amber.

Local jewelers tried to process the nuggets, but the stones crumbled. The solution was found almost 200 years later, when modern technologies appeared.

The crystals could have remained a local exclusive if the local geologist and museum director Vladimir Yefimov had not shown interest in them. In 1985, a specialist called the nugget simbircite.

The scientist formed a method of mineral processing patented in the last century. Nuggets are impregnated with a special adhesive composition, the main components of which are epoxy resin and Canadian fir gum. Thanks to this, the stone became much stronger.

Now the stone has become the main city attraction. Tourists visit the huge ammonite shell, which is filled with crystals of different colors.

The mineral is often called Simbirsk calcite or Volga amber. Despite the last name of the general parameters, a stone can be associated with amber only in appearance.

Gem Options

Simbircite is one of the varieties of onyx. The stone belongs to the calcite group. The components of the mineral are about 15 substances. Most of all, the crystals contain marble onyx and petrified elements of organic origin. The remains of mollusks (for example, limestone, mother-of-pearl and calcite) became such components. External inclusions were pyrite, marl and hematite.

Nugget mining sites

There are few deposits of simbircite on the planet. All types of minerals are mined on the territory of the Russian Federation.Ammonite elements are found exclusively in the Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

There are veiny crystals of simbircite, which are mined in Argentina. At the same time, the scale of mineral extraction in Russia is several times higher than the rate of stone extraction in other countries. Almost all nuggets are mined on the territory of the Ulyanovsk deposit.

Types of gems

The formation of crystals occurred in different ways. Some stones were formed in the voids of dying mollusks, while other minerals appeared in coastal marls. According to the type of rock and its description, symbirite has been divided into two categories:

  1. It is quite rare to get ammonite symbirite. The stone is formed in the voids of ammonites, as a result of which it acquires a rounded shape.
  2. Striped vein crystals can have a thickness of up to 100-120 mm.

Main purpose

Thanks to its unique parameters, symbirite has become a popular material for the jewelry industry and decorative arts:

  1. Stone cutters make all kinds of products from a valuable nugget. On the market there are large vases and countertops, as well as small products. Often symbirite becomes a finishing material used in interior solutions.
  2. Simbirite jewelry is made in a neutral style. You can find rings, earrings, brooches for women, as well as men's rings, cufflinks and tie clips.

Masters of decorative business pay special attention to the type of stone. Ammonite practically does not need processing. At the same time, the vein crystals should be carefully prepared for operation.

Collectors from various parts of the world are happy to treat themselves to the acquisition of a new nugget. All kinds of unique elements allow you to collect truly lovely collections.

Application in medicine

Popular crystals have powerful energy, which makes it a powerful tool that allows you to provide relief from various types of pain. The stone has a positive effect in such cases:

  • Elimination of pathology caused by depression or stress.
  • Getting rid of nervousness.
  • Cure headache and migraine.
  • Optimization of digestive function.
  • Getting rid of eczema.
  • Elimination of symptoms of rheumatism, arthritis or gout.

For many years, simbircite powder has been used as an effective wound healing agent. It is enough to crush the affected area with powder and the healing effect will not be long in coming.

Possibilities in the field of magic

The magical properties of simbircite are due to its powerful energy potential. Thus, the bearer of the stone can get the following features:

  1. Talismans will attract material well-being, love and well-being. The process of building a career ladder, starting a business, as well as forming a family will not be a problem for the owner of the mineral.
  2. Prolonged contact with the nugget will allow you to gain new strength and improve your mood.
  3. Simbirtsit endows the wearer with sensitive intuition and clarity of thinking.
  4. The owner will be protected from obsessions and excessive attention from third parties.
  5. The bearer of the mineral gains strength to overcome his own laziness. A person becomes an energetically active person, able to dream and make sure that any plan is implemented in practice.
  6. The main function of the mysterious gem is to bring good luck and prosperity to its wearer.

Astrological Compatibility

There is no unequivocal answer to the question of which zodiac sign the stone is most suitable for in modern astrology. According to one version, the favorites of the mineral are Taurus and Lions. Despite this, symbircite sympathizes with representatives of other signs. Therefore, the stone is universal.

Rules for wearing and care

Simbircite has a high degree of brittleness. Accordingly, the stone requires delicate care:

  1. It is forbidden to expose the mineral to mechanical stress.
  2. In the event of sudden changes in temperature, the nugget will begin to crack.
  3. To prevent the loss of color brightness and premature disintegration of the stone will allow the exclusion of household chemicals in the process of caring for the crystal.

It is advisable to wear jewelry with simbircite very carefully. Such products are stored in special boxes, which should be in a safe place away from heat sources. It is permissible to clean the product in salted warm water or with the help of a special jewelry composition.

Medicinal or magical symbircite should be regularly cleansed with running water. Then the stone is left in the sun.

Authentication

Jewelers call this stone ornamental. Ammonites can be falsified, but the process of falsifying them is quite troublesome and costly.

Natural simbircite has the following parameters:

  • The warmth of red or honey shades of color.
  • Easy to apply defects with a coin or glass. The passage of the needle leaves a trace resembling dust on the surface.
  • Boiling when interacting with hydrochloric acid. The resulting substance is able to color the fire with a brick color.

Versatile and inexpensive, symbirite is an ornamental stone, but is often used in the jewelry industry. The stone has strong magical and healing capabilities, therefore it is widely used in these areas. Natural fragility indicates the need for careful storage and special care for the exclusive mineral.
